Epos Now competes with the big boys, as Norwich start-up shortlisted for Retail Systems Award
Norwich-based Epos Now has joined the likes of House of Fraser, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, McDonald’s and Specsavers, as the innovative British tech firm makes it onto the 2015 Retail Systems Awards shortlist.
The young start-up, which develops, manufactures and supplies state-of-the-art electronic point-of-sale equipment and software, is one of just four in the running for the national EPoS Innovation of the Year Award 2015.
Recognising innovative EPoS technology that achieves clear business benefits, the award sees Epos Now up against Business Computer Projects, Veeqo and First Data Merchant Solutions; a global leader in payment technology and services solutions.
Jacyn Heavens, CEO, Epos Now, says: “We’re thrilled that the advancements we’ve made in the EPoS industry have seen us recognised alongside the big boys in the Retail Systems Awards. We started the business in 2011, when we identified a gap in the market for an affordable, reliable and easy to use EPoS system. Today our main focus is developing powerful software and features that help businesses improve the visibility of their performance, increase security and boost their profitability.”
Over the past 12 months, Epos Now has helped over 10,000 businesses by introducing revolutionary new features, including Click & Collect, the ability to email receipts and launching the UK’s first EPoS AppStore, making hundreds of integrations accessible to customers nationwide.
Hayley Johnson, COO, Epos Now, says: “The EPoS Innovation of the Year Award has a solid reputation, celebrating hard work, commitment and technical advancements in EPoS. With last year’s award going to Tesco Labs [the retailer giant’s innovation hub], it’s not only fantastic to be shortlisted, but to be judged along with the stars of the British retail industry is a huge feat for a young company like ours.”
Also celebrating the awards’ 10th anniversary, the winners will be announced at the Retail Systems Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony on Thursday 15 October 2015 at London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square.
